Fleetwood Harbour Village

Fleetwood, North West, United Kingdom

Situated in a sheltered, enclosed dock, Fleetwood Harbour Marina is owned and operated by Associated British Ports (ABP), the UK's largest ports group.

The first marina pontoons in Fleetwood were installed in 1989 and by 1994 there were 300 berths.

Overlooking the marina is a 75 acre harbour village development including a major multiple retail outlet known as Freeport Shopping Village. A quayside residential development is also a recent development, launched at Fleetwood Harbour Village, and is called 'Mariners Quay', featuring scenic views across Morecambe Bay and the Cumbrian Hills.

Facilities

Facilities at the marina include toilets and showers located at 3 different points around the marina, with the main one also housing washing and drying machines, a public telephone and drinks vending machines.

The Fleetwood Harbour Yacht Club, created for those based at the marina, has a club house on site and organises racing, cruising and social programs for its members.

The marina features 300 berths ranging from a minimum 7m up to a maximum of 17m. There is also a dry berthing facility which is secured by a 2m chainlink fence and is floodlit during hours of darkness. Those wishing to remove their boat from the water may do so by means of a 15 tonne capacity mobile crane or a slipway.

Each berth has its own metered electricity supply, and a fresh water supply is accessible, with taps situated at 3 or 4 boat intervals. Diesel, camping gaz and calor gas can be purchased at the marina, and any general waste can be disposed of in lidded skips .

Safety is always a key factor on a marina and so life saving appliances and lifebuoys are positioned at regular intervals around the marina. We actively encourage visitors to familiarise themselves with their position and use.

Other Details

The sea channel is well buoyed and lit with sufficient depth for yachts at most states of tide as far as the harbour berths.

Yachts can enter the marina approximately 1.5 hours either side of high water. Masters must maintain a safe distance apart when proceeding up and down the harbour and dock channels and should keep a sharp lookout in the vicinity of the river berths for vessels swinging on arrival and departure.

A revolving yellow light is displayed about 18m above the quay level at the ro-ro berth to indicate that a large vessel is arriving at or sailing from the harbour berths.

Arrival at the Fairway Buoy about an hour before high water is ideal for vessels bound for the marina.
