Whitehaven, situated in the Western Lake District, is also a perfect place to stay if you fancy a few nights in the heart of the Lakes. Historical Georgian architecture, high quality visitor attractions such as The Rum Story, The Beacon and Haig Mining Museum are all on offer within walking distance of the Marina.

Whitehaven hosts the now famous Maritime Festival that attracted over 120,000 visitors in 2001. A short drive away, and you will be in the heart of the Lakes, with the La?al Ratty, Muncaster Castle, Keswick, Ambleside and Windermere to name a few.

Facilities

Marina Facilities.

Ladies and Gents Toilets & showers including full disabled facilities, laundry and baby changing facilities are located on the Bulwark Quay immediately at the top of the Marina access ramp. Access to these facilities is gained through use of pin number issued on arrival. Similarly access to the Marina and marina car park is by use of pin number.

Car Parking

There is limited parking available on the Bulwark Quay. Residents of the marina are issued with a swipe card whereas visitors may gain access by use of pin number issued on arrival. This area is patrolled by parking wardens and thus please ensure that all vehicles registration numbers are registered with the marina office.

Security

The Marina area is under 24 hour a day surveillance by CCTV monitored from the Sealock. Any problems should be reported to the Harbour Master, Sealock operator or any member of Harbour Staff immediately.

Fuel

Marine diesel oil is available to all Harbour users. The refuelling is situated on the Western end of the main Marina pontoon pier. Should you need your boat placed in or removed from the water, there is a 45 tonne capacity boat lift available.

Whitehaven Marina is situated in Cumbria, in the Northwest of England and can be easily reached by road, M6 exit 36, A66 to Workington, A595 to Whitehaven or rail.
